Board of Energy Sector Training (BEST) was formed in June 2015 at the national level to develop and equip young Saudi with the required job skills to work in the energy sector. BEST is a single platform for collaboration and coordination among energy sector stakeholders. Its main functions are to align training strategies and priorities for the energy sector, identify gaps in skill sets, and provide measures to close gaps in the supply and demand of skills.
The Board’s educational and training programs are driven by the job environment and are governed by guaranteed employment and sponsorship. This unique combination creates the right potential for dramatic increases in Saudization percentages.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the founding stakeholders to establish Board of Energy Sector Training (BEST) during the inauguration of the National Industrial Training Institute (NITI) in June 2015. The MoU was endorsed by HRH Prince Saud Bin Nayif Al Saud, Governor of Eastern Province, and HR Prince Bader Bin Muhammad Bin Jalawi, Governor of Al-Ahsa, and HE Khalid Al-Faleh, Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources and Saudi Aramco Board of Chairman.
